Why reading is important!

Monday is DH's birthday. He's turning 30 and I really wanted to do something special! Granted, you only turn 22 once, and 23 once, and so on but 30 is a big deal (in my 20-something opinion). So, I planned a semi-surprise party. I say semi because he is quite Type-A and I didn't want him freaking out when people started showing up. I figured he would be so concerned with cleaning up after everyone that he wouldn't enjoy himself. So, he is aware now, that he is having a party tonight.

Wednesday, I went to order his cake. I wanted something he would LOVE but something NOT girly as well! So, I placed my order and stressed to the woman that his name is ZacH NOT ZacK! I was nice about it but EVERY cake he has ever gotten (since we've been together) has either said Zac or Zack. It's kind of annoying when your own family throws a wedding or baby shower for you and your name is spelled wrong!

I picked up the cake today. It looks great. But... guess what it says Happy Birthday ZACK! REALLY?????? So, I said to the woman, his name is spelled wrong. She was the same woman who had taken my order. She wasn't the person who wrote on the cake. She looked at the order slip and it had an H. So, I think the person who wrote on the cake needs to learn how to read! EERR!
However, the nice woman who took my order fixed it for me. Still, it doesn't look as good as it would have if it would have been done correctly the first time!

Ugh! That would be sooo annoying. I hate that! As a teacher I am always so careful to spell/pronounce names right. Why can't the rest of the world? Poor Maddy. Everyone thinks her full name is spelled Madeline. Hello people! It's Madelyn (pronounced lynn at the end) not Madeline (pronounced line at the end). She's in for it.
