Provera day 6....
Finally did what it was supposed to do! The side-effects were not side effects at all. I think I just felt bad in general that first night. So, for now, just mild-light spotting. I'm hoping by Wednesday I can consider it CD1! I feel good about getting to this point though. Ahhh, the joys of being a "broken" woman!

Not, Why I do it, Wednesday
Ever taken Provera?
I just started taking it last night. I know that really shouldn't be long enough for me to feel something. But, medicine REALLY effects me. I don't know why. If I am going to have a side effect it will happen almost immediately! So, last night after my first dose I felt REALLY bad. I obviously have VERY low progesterone and had blood work done yesterday to verify that I STILL have low progesterone.
But, here's something I don't understand:
My doctor explained to me that you have 2 phases to your cycle.
You have the estrogen cycle and then if you don't get pregnant you have a progesterone cycle.
This is where I get confused. She also explained to me that when you are pregnant they WANT you to produce progesterone. So, how can taking it induce a period? But, I guess they know what they are doing! Also, the bottle says, "DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT" but the doctor told me that there is a possibility I will ovulate WHILE I take it and that's ok. If I get pregnant it won't hurt the baby???
Either way, I haven't had a cycle since March. I'm looking forward to having another cycle so that I can chart if things are working well. Lets just GET ON WITH IT!

Storms/Updated :)
So, DH informed me that I had a typo in my post. I typed that she would call me in some metformin when I meant to say she would call me in some CLOMID! :)
So, I got to work this morning only to find out that school was cancelled due to the major storms early this morning. Several of the elementaries in our district didn't have electricity so they closed school. Too bad I didn't get to sleep in. But, at least I get a day off :)

Speaking of a day off... I had taken yesterday off to go to the doctor. It was time for my Oh-so-fun yearly "well-woman" visit. I went to a new doctor recommended by a friend. My friend just had a baby in January and said that she LOVES this doctor. I had NOTHING to lose because I have the WORST luck picking doctors and I knew she couldn't be worse than what I'd dealt with in the past. However, my fears were completely erased when I met the doctor. She was completely WONDERFUL! I explained all of my previous history with her. I told her about my PCOS (how I thought it was a cop-out when I was first diagnosed), I told her about my low progesterone and how I can't afford it anymore, I told her about my lack of a cycle since March and told her that DH and I would like to have another baby. She listened! Really listened! I have to go in to have some blood work done but only because it's been so long since I've had any. But, she gave me some provera to start my period, upped my Metformin, and then she said some magical words... If you are not pregnant in 3 months, we will call you in some CLOMID! I said, 'THANK YOU!" She said it was completely up to ME what route I choose to take. She said she doesn't need me to wait the usual year before starting fert meds considering I have a 2 1/2 year old and I've been through all of this before. I'm THRILLED. She was GREAT! I'm so thankful to have found her! I feel like this is one "Storm" in my life that is being removed!
I leave you with this: "Princess Benji"
